About Sean

Sean Romanoff

WHO AM I? AND HOW CAN I HELP?

My name is Sean Romanoff and I’m a consultant with Exec|Comm, a firm that teaches communication skills to business professionals. We help people focus on the needs of others rather than their own when they do presentations, run meetings, write, and interact with others both inside and outside the office.

As a former attorney, I work with Exec|Comm’s law firm group and I also consult with a wide variety of other clients. But no matter the client or the program, our underlying theme is always that you’re more effective professionally when you focus on the other person’s needs and less on yourself.

By focusing on your audience you deliver complex ideas more simply, so your message becomes memorable and has greater impact.

After working as an attorney in general practice, I taught writing and presentation courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University. During my nine years at FDU, I focused on key concepts like voice, clarity, and persuasion, and trained students to manage their own reactions to the stress of speaking in front of others.

In addition to my teaching, I also worked as a freelance copywriter and marketing consultant where I helped organizations of all sizes develop genuine, authentic communications designed not only to add clients – but build a loyal community. As a freelance copywriter, I wrote for organizations like ADP, Pearson Education, and Seton Hall Law School. Prior to work, I earned my JD from Rutgers School of Law after receiving my BA with honors from the Ohio State University.

When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy spending time with my family and pursuing my twin passions of reading and writing. I live in Maplewood, New Jersey with my wife, son, daughter, and two dogs.
